When MacKenzie Tuttle met Jeff Bezos , her co-worker at hedge fund D.E. Shaw, he was definitely not a billionaire. He wasn’t even a millionaire. As a mid-level executive at a newly-launched fund, his net worth probably didn’t even top $100-200,000. Fast forward a few decades and Jeff Bezos is a billionaire… 136 times over.

As you can imagine, over those 25 years Jeff and MacKenzie used their astonishing wealth to acquire an impressive collection of assets. An impressive collection that must now be divided in half since the couple has made the decision to divorce after 25 years.

  • 100,000 additional acres in various parts of the country
  • Three units in 25 Central Park West in Manhattan
  • $10 million 5-acre property in Medina, Washington, acquired in 1999
  • $50 million mansion next door to his property in Medina, acquired in 2005
  • $75 million Gulfstream G650 Private Jet – seats 19, has a range of 7,500 nautical miles
  • $250 million – The Washington Post, acquired in 2013
  • Private early investments in Google, Airbnb, NextDoor, Twitter, Uber, Business Insider and others
  • Space exploration company Blue Origin – Jeff reportedly invests $1b of his own money into Blue Origin ever year!
  • $1.6 million annual security expenses
